We have been cooking for our guests with the best local ingredients we can find for years.
We travel the island and the nearby counties, going directly to farms and mills to get the best locally grown things we can find.
We are now offering island visitors and neighbors the opportunity to stop by and pick up fresh-baked breads, cornish pasties and other treats for lunches and dinners. We are serving hand-dipped Lopez Island Creamery Ice Cream. Pints to go also available.
We also are making unique gifts and craft products from the ranch, and showcasing the work of other local artisans.
States Inn & Ranch, the only San Juan Island Bed and Breakfast on a working ranch, announces the opening of the Ranch Store on West Valley Road. The store is the first producer-to-consumer agricultural endeavor on the island to serve fresh on the farm ready-to-eat lunch, picnic, and gift items made from local and regional ingredients.
The store, open daily 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the summer with seasonal hours the rest of the year, will be serving fresh products produced right on the ranch. Fresh made savoury pies & pasties (meat and vegetarian), fruit pies, fresh cookies, and Lopez Island Creamery Ice Cream cones. All the main ingredients are from our ranch, and farms and ranches on the islands and in the greater Northwest.
The store also features our pasture raised eggs, and fruits and vegetables from our gardens, our neighbors gardens, and regional suppliers. The West Valley Road Location provides a convenient alternative for residents and visitors who wish to purchase local, healthy food without driving back into town or out to Roche Harbor.
Gifts made by local craftspeople, including crafters at States Inn, will be available for purchase.
The Ranch Store will be closed on Monday and Tuesday starting October 1, 2007.
The Winter hours are 11:00 am to 5:00 PM, Wednesday through Sunday.
